Double GT3 Entry For Beechdean In 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship. (02.03.20)

Beechdean AMR has announced that will field two Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3s in the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship.

Multiple British GT title winner and team owner Andrew Howard will be joined by 2015 GT4 champion Ross Gunn while Jack Mitchell will partner with Valentin Hasse-Clot in the team’s second entry.

Originally Beechdean AMR had announced a single GT3 entry for Hasse-Clot to be partnered with Alex Toth-Jones. Toth-Jones is now considering another Beechdean programme later in the year.

Jack Mitchell is delighted to be contesting the premier domestic GT series in an Aston Martin,

“It is a real opportunity to continue my journey and ultimate goal of becoming a factory driver,” said the 21-year-old pilot who took two podiums in 2019, driving alongside Angus Fender in the #9 Century Motorsport BMW M6 GT3.

“Beechdean have a proven record of investing and managing young talent and whilst I know it’s going to be a tough journey, I am really excited about this year.”

Aston Martin Racing factory driver Ross Gunn is looking forward to returning to the British GT Championship in 2020.

“It’s good to be back full-time – a lot has changed since my last proper British GT season in 2016 but it’s a special championship for me and one I’ve always fancied another crack at,” said Ross Gunn. “My career as a factory driver wouldn’t have been possible without Andrew and Beechdean’s support back in the early days, which has now developed into a really good Pro/Am partnership. It will be interesting to see how we stack up against this year’s string GT3 entry.”

Andrew Howard, who took the title in 2013 and ’15, is as motivated as ever for the new season.

“Ross and I have always worked well together so hopefully we can translate last season’s European success into a strong British GT campaign,” said Andrew Howard. “We looked at several programmes for 2020 and you’ll definitely see Beechdean’s Aston elsewhere this year, but I couldn’t resist an opportunity to race with Ross in Britain again.”

The 2020 Intelligent Monet British GT Championship season launches with Media Day at Snetterton on Tuesday March 3. Racing begins over the Easter weekend of April 11 – 13.
