Tolman Motorsport To Contest Final Round Of British GT At Donington

Rugby-based Tolman Motorsport, founded by Christopher Tolman in 2007, has announced that it will contest the final round of the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Donington with its newly-acquired Bentley Continental GT3.

Ian Stinton and Jordan Witt will pilot the entry. Both have extensive GT racing experience with Ian Stinton having made his series debut in 2000. Stinton last contested a full season in the British GT Championship in 2016, when, alongside teammate Mike Simpson, he drove the Tolman Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT3 to 12th place in the GT3 Pro-Am drivers standings.

” I was supposed to race elsewhere over the Donington weekend but when those plans fell through I started looking around at other options and they don’t come any more exciting than this!” said Ian Stinton.

“Of course, Tolman and myself are coming into this without any experience of the Bentley and everyone else has already got at least six weekends under their belts this year, but I just couldn’t say no to such an incredible opportunity.”

Jordan Witt has experience in the Bentley, having raced with Team Parker Racing in 2019.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to not only come back and race in British GT but also to reunite with the Bentley Continental. I can’t wait for Donington!” said Jordan Witt. “I’m really looking forward to racing with Ian for the first time and to be joining Chris and the guys at Tolman Motorsport. The team has a huge amount of experience and is an incredibly professional operation.

My intention is to bring the experience I have of the Bentley from a couple of years ago to enable Tolman to develop the car and have a solid foundation to build on.”

Team owner Chris Tolman is looking forward to returning to top-level competition at Donington.

“We’ve been focusing on the business’ restoration work since 2020 but there’s a reason we’re called Tolman Motorsport and I’m keen to see ht side of things return full-time next season,” said Chris Tolman.

“The team is still equipped to go racing at the highest level but finding a suitable programme during two particularly tricky years hasn’t been easy. Now this opportunity to run a Bentley makes our intentions very clear and will hopefully open a few doors next season.”

The final round of the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship takes place at Donington Park on October 16 – 17.
