33 full season entries for the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship have been revealed for the ninth season of the highest level of prototype and GT racing.
Across the four classes and the 33 entries are five cars entered for the new Hypercar class which replaces LMP1 for 2021. There are 11 entries in the LMP2 category, four in the LMGTE Pro class and 13 entries in the LMGTE Am category.
Entries from Italy, Germany, Great Britain, USA, Japan, France, Switzerland, Poland, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and Slovakia are represented in the six-round championship. The season gets underway at Sebring in March before visiting Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Le Mans, Monza, Fuji and Bahrain.
In the new Hypercar class, Toyota Gazoo Racing will campaign two of its GR010 – Hybrids while Alpine ELF Matmut has entered its Alpine A480 – Gibson and Glickenhaus Racing will be present with two examples of its Glickenhaus 007 LMH.
The 2021 LMP2 grid will include the first all-female crew with the entry of the #1 Richard Mille Racing Team ORECA 07 to be piloted by Tatiana Calderon, Sophie Floersch and Bietske Visser. The #1 car will not be the only all-female crewed entry for Season 9 as it will be joined by the #85 Iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GTE Evo to be driven by Rahel Frey, Manuela Gostner and Michele Gatting.
President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, Pierre Fillon, is looking forward to the new season.
