Genesis Magma Racing, the luxury and racing brand owned by Hyundai who are currently working to enter two of its GMR-001s in the FIA World Endurance Championship and a further two in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2027, has announced that two drivers from its Trajectory Programme will be promoted to its Hypercar roster for next season.
Mathys Jaubert and Daniel Juncadella who, alongside teammate Jamie Chadwick, are currently competing in the European Le Mans Series, will join André Lotterer and Pipo Derani in the team’s Hypercar driver line-up for next season.
Jaubert, Juncadella and Chadwick took victory at a rain-soaked Silverstone at Round Five of the 2025 ELMS to add to their wins at Barcelona and Paul Ricard to leave the #18 IDEC Sport second in the LMP2 teams standings, six points behind leaders VDS Panis Racing.
20-year-old Mathys Jaubert graduated from karts to cars in 2022 and is closely aligned to Porsche with campaigns in the Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2022, 2023 and 2024. With IDEC Sport, Jaubert contested the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans with teammates Juncadella and Chadwick and is competing in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

“I’m really excited to be joining the Genesis Magma Racing line-up”, said Jaubert. “It represents a big step in my career and a chance to measure myself against the best in the world.
“The ‘Trajectory Programme’ and my experience in the ELMS have been invaluable, not only in terms of learning the technical side and managing long stints, but also in understanding the teamwork and consistency needed at this level. In FIA WEC, that is even more important so it’s great to immediately begin working with the team at the tests. Competing in FIA WEC has always been a dream and I can’t wait to take on the challenge and contribute to Genesis Magma Racing’s success.”
Spanish pilot Daniel Juncadella has been competing in sportscars since 2013 when he joined Mücke Motorsport to compete in the DTM. The 30-year-old became a Mercedes factory driver in 2022 and, with teammates Raffaela Marciello and Jules Gounon won the Endurance Cup in a season that included winning the 24 Hours of Spa. Juncadella has raced in IMSA competition and, with Gounon and Maro Engel, won their class at the 2023 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.

“it’s been my goal for the past couple of years to graduate to Hypercar,” said Juncadella. “I’ve been racing the FIA WEC’s LM GT3 class (with TF Sport) so it fits well for me to step up in a championship that I know very well and it’s perfect to do it with Genesis Magma Racing, to be starting from scratch with a brand that will hopefully be in the championship for many years to come.”
For Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul, Jaubert and Juncadella’s promotion to the Hypercar programme shows the success of the Trajectory Programme’s ELMS campaign with IDEC Sport.
“The target was always to support drivers and give them an opportunity to prove they could step up to our FIA WEC line-up,” said Abiteboul. “That we are already in a position where we can bring Mathys and Dani in for 2026 is a massive credit to them.
“Together with Jamie Chadwick, they have adapted brilliantly to prototype racing as their performances since the first race of the ELMS season have shown. More importantly, they have improved throughout, learning from each weekend which is something e expect to continue with their arrival in Hypercar.”
Further details of Genesis Magma Racing’s driver line-up are expected in the coming months. Jamie Chadwick remains part of the Trajectory Programme as the ELMS moves to Portugal for its final round.
