JOTA, the Tunbridge Wells-based motorsport group that runs the Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA WEC programme in addition to providing cutting-edge advanced engineering and composite solutions, was honoured at Motorsport UK’s Night of Champions with the Sir Malcom Campbell Memorial Trophy for outstanding excellence in motorsport.

At the awards ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club on 24 January, Motorsport UK Chair David Richards CBE presented the award to JOTA Partner and Co-Founder David Clark and JOTA Technical Director Tomoki ‘Taka’ Takashi.

JOTA is one of the world’s most successful sportscar racing teams, having stood on the LMP2 class podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on ten occasions, including two class victories. In 2023 the team entered the Hypercar class with the Porsche 963 and were appointed as the Cadillac factory entry in the FIA World Endurance Championship beginning with the 2025 season. The team took its first win for the brand in Brazil.

In 2026, in addition to the race team, the group also comprises JOTA Advanced Engineering and JOTA Composites.

JOTA Partner and Co-Founder David Clark said: “Receiving the Sir Malcolm Campbell Trophy is an enormous honour and a moment of real pride for everyone within the JOTA organisation. This award recognises not only our achievements on the track but also the dedication, skill and passion or every member of our team across all our businesses.

“JOTA was founded with the aim of creating a culture of excellence and to see that recognised in this way is incredibly special.”

Presenting the Award, Motorsport UK Chair David Richards CBE said: “On behalf of Motorsport UK and everyone in our community, I extend our warmest congratulations to JOTA on being awarded the Sir Malcolm Campbell Memorial Trophy. The judging panel and I wished to acknowledge the team’s exceptional contribution to sports car racing over the past 26 years.

“This honour stands as a distinguished tribute to the entire team and the people within it. JOTA is wholly deserving of this prestigious recognition.”

Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA will be on track for the FIA WEC Prologue at Losail International Circuit in Qatar on 28 March.
