Barwell Motorsport has announced that Duncan Cameron and Matt Campbell will be joining the seven-time British GT champions as part of a three-car assault on the premier domestic GT series, driving the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

Cameron and Campbell will switch from Ferrari for the biggest full-season entry from the Leatherhead-based squad since 2007. In 2025 the duo contested both the British GT Championship and the European Le Mans Series with Spirit of Race SA, driving the #55 Ferrari 296 GT3. The domestic championship yielded a best finish of 7th overall at Oulton Park, Spa-Francorchamps, Snetterton and Donington and 11th in the GT3 Pro/Am drivers’ standings.

Joined by David Perel, Campbell and Cameron finished 6th in the ELMS LMGT3 Drivers’ standings.

2026 will see the final competitive outings for the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 which Barwell has campaigned since its introduction in 2016. For 2027, the marque will switch to the new twin-turbo V8 Temerario GT3.

With his son racing in Ginetta Juniors this season, Duncan Cameron is looking forward to getting back to the British GT paddock.

“I was very keen to get back to British GT for this year as my son, Henry, will be competing in Ginetta Junior on the same package,” said Duncan Cameron. “Eventually we’d love to race together in GTs, so it makes sense for us both to be competing on the dame weekends. When we looked at options for this year it made sense to switch, and when the chance to join Barwell Motorsport came up, it was a no-brainer.

“I’ve yet to experience the Lamborghini Huracan but across the years it’s been a very competitive package at pretty much every track. I know with the support of Matt and the Barwell team I’ll learn quickly and I’m looking forward to a really competitive year.”

For Matt Griffin, the chance to compete in the Lamborghini Huracan is one he is looking forward to.

“We felt the time was right to make a change for this season in British GT and when you go looking for a top team you don’t have search much further than Barwell Motorsport. You only have to look at their record in British GT to know they’re one of, if not the most successful team in the championship’s history so it should be the perfect environment for Duncan and I.

“While we’ll still be competing in Europe with Ferrari, I’m hugely excited to get to grips with the Lamborghini. We’ve got several tests booked pre-season to help us adapt and being part of a three-car team with open data sharing should also be a great help. I can’t wait to get going and I’d also like to say thanks to AF Corse for allowing me to be part of this programme in British GT”.

Barwell Motorsport Team Principal Mark Lemmer said: “This is going to be a big season for us, on many levels, and confirming a partnership as string and experienced as Duncan and Matt is a great way to start. As driver pairings go it’s hard to find a more enduring partnership than theirs. They have competed at the very highest levels together for many years and know each other’s skills inside out. They work incredibly well together, so I have no doubt they’ll adapt very quickly to the Lamborghini and we’re looking forward to seeing what they can achieve this year.

“With this being the final year running the Huracan in top-flight competition – a car we’ve had unprecedented success with – the time is right to expand the effort into three cars. Alongside this enhanced British GT commitment, we’ve also launched our GT3 Heritage division to race in classic GT3 series across Europe so it’s going to a bug season at home and abroad. We can’t wait to get started.”

Further driver announcements for the remaining two British GT entries will be announced in due course.
