After going quickest in the first practice session for Round Five of the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Brands Hatch, four-time drivers champion Jonny Adam topped the time sheets again in FP2 with a 1:27.208. Adam and team owner Andrew Howard are reuniting in the #7 Beechdean Aston Martin AMR Vantage GT3 at Brands Hatch this weekend for the first time since their championship-winning season in 2015.
Second quickest in FP2 overall was the #10 2 Seas Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3 in which Jack Mitchell put in a 1:25.573 at the half-way point of the session.
Completing the top three was the #2 Jenson Team Rocket RJN McLaren, James Baldwin lapping in 1:25.586 before an apparent mechanical failure side-lined the car for the final 15 minutes.
TF Sport again went quickest in the GT4 class, the #97 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 setting a 1:32.146 in the hands of Daniel Vaughan and Jamie Caroline while the sister #95 entry was .413 seconds behind with a 1:32.146.
Franck Perera showed the pace of the #18 WPI Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 he shares with Michael Igoe with a 1:25.783 to go fourth quickest overall. With a win at Donington Park and the team’s confidence sky-high after working through two driver substitutions, Andrea Calderelli joining the team for rounds three and four replacing Dennis Lind, the #18 car will be one to watch going into qualifying later on Saturday August 29.
The four ten-minute qualifying sessions get underway at 16:00 on August 29, the aggregate times of the two drivers in each car setting the grid for the two-hour race for which the lights go out at 13:00 on Sunday August 30.
