Shaun Balfe and Ron Bell have announced that they will return to the British GT Championship in 2020, driving the Balfe Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3.
Balfe and Bell enjoyed a spectacular second half to the 2019 season in the premier domestic GT championship, concluding the year by taking the win at Donington Park in the final round to finish third in the GT3 drivers standings.
“We’re really excited to be returning to the British GT Championship with the McLaren 720S GT3,” said Shaun Balfe. “The car was quick last season and we have some of the best mechanics and engineers in the paddock working with us so, as a combination, I think we could be right up there again.
Shaun Balfe, partner in Balfe Motorsport with his father David, is looking forward to the 2020 season.
“But for a bit of luck in a couple of races – one where Rob was taken off and another where the door wouldn’t close – we might have been in a position to win the title. Regardless, the team is fantastic and whatever happens during the season, we’ll enjoy ourselves every time we go to race.”
In addition to its GT3 entry, Balfe Motorsport will also enter two McLaren 570S GT4s. The drivers for the entries are currently being finalised.
The 2020 British Gt Championship season gets underway at Oulton Park on April 11 – 13.
