Beechdean AMR Returns for Full-Season 2021 British GT Campaign With Howard and Adam. (11.12.20)

Beechdean AMR team owner Andrew Howard and four-time British GT champion Jonny Adam will reunite for the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship, bringing a partnership back to the grid that previously enjoyed a title-winning campaign in 2015.

The duo had one British GT outing in 2020 at Brands Hatch where the team’s #7 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 finished seventh overall and fourth in the Pro-Am class.

Team owner Andrew Howard focused his attention on his business during 2020 but is now keen to get back on the grid for a full-season campaign in the UK’s premier GT racing series.

“That mid-season outing at Brands has really fired me up to have another go at the British GT title with Jonny next year,” said Andrew Howard. “I knew he’d be in demand so we agreed everything long before 2020’s campaign was over. There was talk then about the class structure moving back towards Pro-Am from Silver-Silver and the SRO’s subsequent changes should really put us in the championship mix again,”

Jonny Adam is looking forward to working again with Beechdean AMR as well as competing to regain his record of race wins, a title which was taken by Phil Keen.

“I should be humble and say seeing Phil take the record this year didn’t bother me but of course it did a bit!” said the double 24 Hours of Le Mans GTE winner. “I’ve been busy in WEC and elsewhere but have also kept one eye on what’s been happening in British GT and of course ended up doing a couple of rounds with Andrew and Alex anyway.”

The 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship gets underway at Oulton Park on April 3 – 5.
