Brabam Automotive, the Anglo-Australian automotive business founded by David Brabham in 2018, and Goodyear, the American multinational tyre manufacturing company, have announced a partnership to collaborate across racing and road car development.

The Brabham BT62, the company’s first vehicle launched in May 2018, will make its on-track debut at Brands Hatch on November 9 – 10 in the Dunlop Endurance Championship run by Britcar in the ‘Into The Night’ race.

The relationship between the Brabham family name and Goodyear extends back over 50 years, Sir Jack Brabham having won the 1966 Formula One World Championship in a Brabham-Repco BT19, shod with Goodyear rubber.

Director of Brabham Automotive and son of Sir Jack Brabham, David Brabham is delighted that the two names are reunited in Brabham’s next chapter of racing history.

“Goodyear and Brabham’s combined successes in motorsport are iconic,” said David Brabham. “The partnership historically brought an incredible amount of success in Formula 1 and endurance racing and we look to continue this winning legacy through Brabham Automotive, the BT62 and future car variants. The continued commitment shown by Goodyear globally in motorsport means it is perfect timing for the two marques to join forces as we continue our road to Le Mans.”

Britcar MD Claire Hedley said:

“We are delighted that Brabham Automotive have chosen the final rounds of the Britcar Endurance Championship at Brands Hatch on November 9th/10th for the debut of the Brabham BT 62. The endurance format of the one-hour races, featuring pit stops, driver changes, and into-the-night elements, represents the perfect challenge for this type of racecar, and confirms the Britcar Endurance Championship’s status as the premier endurance category in the UK.”
