Fenny Compton-based Century Motorsport has announced that it will enter a pair of BMW M4 GT4s for the forthcoming British GT Championship.

The team has also announced its first driver pairing of Ben Tuck and Ben Green with the expectation that the line-up for the sister car will be announced shortly.

The switch of marques for the British GT Championship is a major departure for Team Principal Nathan Freke’s team, which has campaigned Ginetta G50 and G55s since its entry into the premier national GT championship in 2009.

Nathan Freke is delighted at the opportunities that entering the new BMW M4 GT4 offers the team.

“2018 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for us,” said Freke. “To bring BMW back to the British GT Championship with two M4 GT4s is a fantastic opportunity for us and one that we are relishing. We have one extremely strong driver pairing confirmed and the second pairing looks to be just as exciting.”

19-year old Ben Green, from Waltham Abbey, Essex, is no stranger to Century Motorsport, having finished second in the 2017 Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup with the team as well as having campaigned the team’s Ginetta G55 GT4 in Dubai round of the 24H Series, finishing second.

“I’m very excited to be signing up with Century Motorsport for my second year of racing with the team,” said Green. “We had a lot of success in 2017 and I’m looking forward to carrying this on into 2018.”

20-year old Ben Tuck is equally excited to be racing with Ben Green in the debut season for the BMW M4 GT4 in Britain.

“I can’t wait to get the season started,” said Tuck. “I’ve raced with Century before at Donington in 2017 so I know the team well, and I’ve known Ben for a few years through college and through working with him, so the relationships are already there. This is the biggest year for me so far in terms of championship and exposure.”

The 2018 British GT Championship season opens at Oulton Park on March 31 – April 2 with the season-launching Media Day to be held at Donington on March 8.
