Kelvin Fletcher and Martin Plowman have announced that they will make their debut in the GT3 class for the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Powered by AWS season.
The 2019 British GT Championship GT4 Pro-Am champions will share the driving duties in the JRM Racing Bentley Continental GT3.
Fletcher and Plowman were due to enter the senior class in the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship but the global pandemic caused the duo to pause their plans ahead the opening round.
With Silver-Silver partnerships now removed from the GT3 class, the pairing will now have an even better opportunity to compete for overall victories.
Kelvin Fletcher, who, along with driving partner Martin Plowman, launched Paddock Motorsport in 2020, is looking forward to the new season.
“We’ve kep ourselves busy but nothing beats actually being out in the car and Brands hatch can’t come soon enough.” said Fletcher. “We’ve still only completed a handful of laps in the Bentley – 2020’s Media Day was my first and only meaningful running with the car, but we’ll be putting that right before the season starts.
“And we’ll need to be because the championship’s renewed emphasis on Pro-Am has resulted in some very strong GT3 driver combinations.”
Teammate Martin Plowman is also excited about the opportunity to compete for overall victories in the UK’s premier domestic GT championship.
“We were the top GT4 Pro-Am crew in 2019 so there’s no reason why we can’t mix it with the established guys,” said Plowman. “Yes, they’ll have a head-start in terms of experience; the likes of Jonny Adam and Phil Keen have seen it all before. But Kelvin’s a fast learner and JRM know enough about the car from 2019 to get the best out of it and us.”
The 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship Powered by AWS gets underway at Brands Hatch on May 22 – 23.
