Former Head of Audi Motorport Dieter Gass has joined Tunbridge Wells-based JOTA as Team Principal of its Hertz Team JOTA Hypercar team.
Gass has an extensive motorsport CV having spent nearly nine years with Toyota Motorsport GmbH before a short stint at Team Lotus led him to Audi AG. He spent almost four years in the role of Head of Audi Motorsport before taking on an undisclosed role in 2020.
JOTA was announced as one of Porsche’s customer teams for the new Porsche 963 at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The team expects to race the new Hypercar at Spa in Round Three of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship before competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The three-man driver line-up of Will Stevens, Antonio Felix da Costa and Yifei Ye will compete in LMP2 machinery for the opening two rounds of the WEC.
