SRO Motorsports Group, the series organiser of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, has announced that the Brands Hatch rounds, originally scheduled for May, have now been rescheduled for August 28 – 29.
The UK circuit will now host the fourth of five Sprint Cup meetings and the seventh event on the 2021 GT World Challenge Europe calendar. As the date falls on a Bank Holiday weekend, the organisers are looking forward to a large crowd, COVID-19 restrictions permitting.
The rescheduling of the Brands Hatch event does not come without its challenges. The fifth round of the Championnat de France FFSA GT series at Ledenon, originally due to take place on the same weekend, will now be moved, drivers, teams and staff having commitments in both championships.
The 2021 Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS gets underway at Monza on April 16 – 18, preceded by the official test days at Circuit Paul Ricard on March 25 – 26.
