Howard And Adam Reunite For Beechdean Brands Entry. (24.08.20)

Andrew Howard will reunite with Jonny Adam for a Beechdean AMR GT3 entry at Brands Hatch on August 29 – 30, round five of the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship.

The duo, who first raced together in 2011 and won eight races, will campaign the Beechdean AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in a retro yellow-and-blue livery, harking back to the livery applied to the DBRS9 in which they took their first two British GT victories.

Andrew Howard, owner of Beechdean AMR and Managing Director of Beechdean Dairies Ltd, is looking forward to returning to the track at the iconic Kent circuit.

“I’ve put all my focus and energy into Beechdean over the last few months but there is light at the end of the tunnel and I feel capable and ready to go racing again,” said Andrew Howard.

“Obviously Jonny and I have a great history together so when I knew he was available for Brands it was a no-brainer, really. We haven’t raced together in British GT or elsewhere since winning the Championship in 2015 but everything slotted back into place when we went for a simulator session last week. His dulcet Scottish tones over the radio took me right back!

“I’m there to have fun and enjoy a close battle with the other ams but we’ll go about it in a very professional way as if we’re fighting for the championship.”

2017 24 Hours of Le Mans LM GTE Pro champion Adam, who went on to enjoy three more title-winning British GT seasons after his time with Beechdean, is also looking forward to returning to Brands Hatch and demonstrating the competitiveness of the Aston Martin AMR Vantage in the premier domestic Gt series.

“We’re under no illusions – there are some very fast pairings this year – but the Aston is also more amateur friendly than it was 12 months ago, ” said Adam. “It’s an area Prodrive worked really hard on over the winter but not something we’re been able to show thus far.”

Track action for the Brands Hatch round of the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship gets underway at 09:30 on Saturday August 29 with the first practice session. Qualifying begins at 16:00 later in the afternoon with the lights going out for the two -hour race at 13:00 On Sunday August 30.
