South of France-based G-Drive by DragonSpeed has announced that Léo Roussell will join Memo Rojas and Ryo Hirakawa in the team’s #21 ORECA 07 for the 2017 European Le Mans Series.

This will be young French driver’s third season in Europe’s premier prototype series after having driven for Pegasus Racing for the past two years.

The announcement now completes the driver line-ups for DragonSpeed’s two entries in this year’s series. Its #21 Gibson-powered ORECA 07, entered under 10Star DragonSpeed banner, will be piloted by Henrik Hedman, Nicolas Lapierre and Ben Hanley.

Rousell is delighted at the opportunity to join G-Drive by DragonSpeed

“It’s a real pleasure and an honour to be a member of the team and to share the G-Drive by DragonSpeed ORECA with Memo and Ryo,” said Roussel. “It’s great to be taking this programme forward with a team, and teammates, who are just as passionate as I am about the sport and who will be looking to take the team to the front row of the grid and the top step of the podium.”

“We have been delighted to welcome Léo into our team,” said Team Principal Elton Julian. “We have been lucky to have some very talented drivers in our cars and adding Léo continues that story. Our target is to provide him with the tools and support to show his full potential in what will be a pivotal season for his young career. Combined with Ryo and Memo, this trio gives us the motivation to deliver on our ambitions.”

The 2017 European Le Mans Series opens with the first round at Silverstone on April 15.
