Iron Dames, the team founded by Deborah Mayer in 2018 with the goal of supporting and promoting women in motorsport, has announced that there will be no team entry into the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship.

In a statement on social media, the team said:

“The FIA WEC entry list will be revealed soon – and when it is, you won’t see a Porsche entry under the Iron Dames banner.

“We know this may come as a surprise – and may feel emotional for some of our fans. But it’s a change by design – one that strengthens our long-term vision. This is the next step forward of a performance-driven project that never stops evolving and redefining the norm.

“Since 2021 in FIA WEC, the Iron Dames have stood at the summit of world endurance racing – proving that talent has no gender, that determination moves mountains and that women belong on the biggest stage of motorsport.

“As the only all-female line-up for five seasons, we didn’t just take part – we shaped the narrative and left a cultural mark with unforgettable moments like the historic Bahrain victory in 2023.

“Racing is our ground, our drive and still one of our strongest frontiers – and yes – we’ll be on many racetracks in 2026. Dames and young talents further strengthening the future of the project. The Iron Dames spirit has never lived on one grid only.

“Our journey has taught us that standing still is never an option. Our purpose lives in the next step – in the mission to keep climbing, keep inspiring keep dreaming big.

“What began on track has grown into a powerful movement – one that reaches far beyond motorsport – and you are part of it.

“Your support fuels everything we do – today and tomorrow. The story continues! We keep you posted.”

Manthey Racing GmBH, based in Meuspath, Germany and who ran the Iron Dames #85 Porsche 911 GT3R LMGT3 after the squad split from Lamborghini at end of 2024, commented:

“Thank you for an incredible year and for all the moments we shared – the highs, the challenges and the unforgettable memories. It was an honour to race together, and we truly value the friendship and trust we built. Wishing you all the best for what’s ahead.”

Iron Dames had competed at the highest level of endurance and GT racing since 2022. In four seasons, five drivers competed for the team in WEC; Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting. Sarah Bovy, Doriane Pin and Célia Martin. The squad achieved their highest class-finishing standings in the LMGTE Am era when they finished third in the teams standings in 2022 and second the following season. In 2023, Iron Dames became the final winning team of the LMGTE era when Bovy, Gatting and Frey brought the #83 car for the LMGTE Am win at the season’s final round in Bahrain.

In their final season in 2025, Iron Dames finished 17th in the LMGT3 teams standings.

Iron Dames have yet to confirm what their racing plans will be for the 2026 season.
