Optimum Quickest at Brands Hatch in British GT Free Practice

Ben Barnicoat, at the wheel of the #77 Optimum Motorsport Mclaren 720S T3 he shares with Morgan Tillbrook, set the quickest time round the Brands Hatch GP circuit with a 1:23.924, .023 seconds quicker that Charles Clark in the #44 Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO.

Third quickest in the 60-minute session was the Orange Racing by JMH McLaren 720S GT3 EVO in which Marcus Clutton lapped in 1:23.948 in the car he shares with Jonathon Beeson.

In the GTG4 class, Jack Mitchell, who shares the driving duties in the #8 Toro Verde GT McLaren Artura with Luke Shaw, put in a 1:31.444 to go .123 seconds quicker than Thomas Holland in the #74 Innovation Racing Ginetta G56 GT4 EVO he shares with Hadley Simpson.

Completing the top three in the GT4 class was the #21 GT4S MK Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVO in which Will Orton lapped in 1:31.996.

The 60-minute pre-qualifying session gets underway at 11:45 am with the first qualifying session for Sunday’s two-hour contest beginning at 4.15 pm.
