Porsche Announces LMDh Programme From 2023. (16.12.20)

Porsche AG has announced that it will rejoin the senior class of endurance racing with an LMDh programme from 2023.

The announcements means that it will be able to challenge for overall victories in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

The LMDh category, the initials standing for Le Mans Daytona Hybrid, is based on upgraded LMP2 chassis with a standardised spec for the hybrid system and electronics.

The announcement from the Stuttgart marque means that, from 2023, enthusiasts of sportscar racing will see a resumption of the Toyota / Audi / Porsche battles at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a senior class contest not seen at the Circuit de la Sarthe since 2016.
