Porsche Penske Motorsport won the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona when Felipe Nasr brought the #7 Porsche 963 he shared with Dane Cameron, Matt Campbell and Josef Newgarden across the line 2.112 seconds ahead of Tom Blomqvist in the #31 Whelen Cadillac Racing Cadillac V-Series.R. Blomqvist was pushing hard over the final laps in the #31 car he shared with Jack Aitken and Pipo Derani but, with the clock counting down, was unable to find a way past.
Completing the overall podium, and finishing third in the GTP class, was the #40 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Acura ARX-06. Louis Deletraz drove the final stint in the car he shared with Jordan Taylor, Colton Herta and Jenson Button.
The LMP2 class was equally as thrilling with five cars finishing on the lead lap. The #18 Ero Motorsport ORECA took the class win with Christian Rasmussen taking the chequered flag after sharing the driving duties with Dwight Merriman, Ryan Dalziel and Connor Zilisch. Second in class, and finishing just under seven seconds behind the #18 car, was the #04 Crowdstrike Racing by APR entry driven by George Kurtz, Colin Bruan, Toby Sowery and, taking the final stint, Malthe Jakobsen.
Felipe Fraga, at the wheel of the #74 Riley entry completed the top three.
Victory in the GTD PRO class went to the #62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 driven by Daniel Serra, Davide Rigon, Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado followed by the #77 AO Racing ‘Rexy’ Porsche 911 GT3 R piloted by Laurin Heinrich, class pole-sitter Seb Priaulx and Michael Christensen. The top three was rounded out the Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3, Sheldon van der Linde taking the chequered flag.
Mercedes AMG took victory in the GTD with the #57 Winward Racing Mercedes AMG GT3 with Daniel Morad crossing the line just under three seconds ahead of the #21 AF Corse Ferrari driven by Miguel Molina.
