SRO Expands GT Academy with Fully-Funded 24 Hours of Spa Prize
November 25, 2025SRO Motorsports Group, the series organisers of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, the British GT Championship and multiple GT series around the world, has announced the expansion of the SRO GT Academy.
The SRO GT Academy is an initiative focused on finding the next generation of GT racing talent. Launched in 2025 within the FFSA French GT Championship, 19-year-old Gaspard Simon won a €150,000 contribution towards a GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup or GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli seat in 2026. Simon, who drove for Code Racing Development in the GT4 France – Pro-Am class, collected his prize at the SRO Awards evening held in Venice on November the 22nd.
2026: Four Silver Drivers to Earn Spa 2027 Seat
For 2026, four drivers, one each from the British GT Championship and the GT World Challenge series’ in America, Asia and Europe, have the opportunity to earn a fully-funded seat at the 2027 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The winning drivers will share a Silver Cup entry run by a professional team.
Drivers, who must be aged under 30 at the end of 2026 and hold a Silver driver classification, will be assessed against a range of criteria such as qualifying pace, average stint times and conduct off the circuit.
There will also be an opportunity for a driver competing in GT2 Europe in 2026 to win a Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Team seat for 2027 in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
