Lee Frost’s RACE LAB has secured three entries into the 2023 Intelligent Money British GT Championship and has announced that Lucky Khera and Euan Hankey will pilot its McLaren 720S GT3 in a Pro-Am entry in the senior class.
The team will also reveal details of a GT4 entry on the afternoon of February 16. A third driver crew will be announced in due course.
Lucky Khera began his racing career in 2016 and has competed in, amongst other championships, the Kumho BMW Championship, the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Ferrari Challenge UK which he won in 2020 and 2022. In a busy programme last year, Khera had an outing in the British GT Championship with Valluga Racing in the GT4 class. He also competed in the British Endurance Championship with RACE LAB and team owner Lee Frost.
Khera will be driving alongside RACE LAB sporting director Euan Hankey. Taunton-based Hankey raced the McLaren 720S GT3 in 2021 and 2022, having won the the GT4 Pro-Am title with Mia Flewitt in 2020.
Hankey is looking forward to contesting a full-season with Lucky Khera.
“I’m very excited to be part of Lucky’s first full-season British GT campaign,” he said. “It’s the start of what we hope will be a race-winning partnership with the McLaren 720S GT3. We have an extensive test programme lined up but, looking at the bigger picture, this is the beginning of a two-year programme and we have to appreciate this season could present its challenges. Equally, we are also ready for whatever 2023 throws at us.
“Lucky has a natural ability behind the wheel and I have full confidence that he will bring whatever is required to the table to give us a fighting chance out there on the circuit.”
Team owner Lee Frost pointed out that 2023’s entry is the start of a multi-year programme for RACE LAB.
With the new season getting underway at Oulton Park on April 8 & 10, RACE LAB will have all three of its entries present at the Championship’s Media Day on March 14.
“2023 is a very exciting year for us here at RACE LAB and has been a long time in the making. We are very fortunate to be able to boast what I truly feel is an extremely strong line-up of both Pro and Am drivers alongside a solid team of mechanics, engineers and everyone else required to make a team successful.
“We of course have three cars entered in British GT this year and I feel this expansion of the team will allow us to grow positively and create new avenues for us to demonstrate our full potential.”
