The Total 24 Hours of Spa, the blue riband event of the global GT racing calendar, has been extended to 25 hours for the running of the 2020 race.
The race, originally scheduled for July, was postponed until October 22 – 25 due to the global pandemic. October 25, however, is the date upon which Central European Summer Time ends and the clocks go back by one hour.
Race organisers SRO Motorsports Groups has therefore extended the running time so that the event can start and finish at 15:30 on the Saturday and Sunday.
The Total 24 hours of Spa, the name remaining unchanged, concludes a packed week of activities at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The GT4 European Series will see Round 5 contested during the week while the Lamborghini Super Trofeo grid will once again join the schedule.
Making its debut at the Total 24 Hours of Spa race week will be the TCR Europe series.
The organisers will release the full schedule in the coming weeks.
