VANWALL Reveals Plans To Enter 2026/27 ALMS
December 12, 2025VANWALL Racing Team, owned and led by Colin Kolles, has expressed its intention to enter the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series.
The team was last present on an ACO grid in 2023 when it contested the full FIA World Endurance Championship season with its #4 Vanwall Vandervell 680 non-hybrid Hypercar. The team, which opened the season with ex-Formula 1 champion Jacques Villeneuve as part of its driver lineup, finished 7th in the Hypercar World Endurance Manufacturers Championship with a season-best result of 8th in the opening round at Sebring.
The FIA and ACO have expanded the Asian Le Mans Series to include privateer Hypercar entries for the 2026/27 season and Vanwall is seeking an invitation to enter its Vanwall 680 Hypercar in the six-round competition.
Since its debut season in 2023, Vanwall has ‘extensively revised’ the car’s powertrain architecture with attention focused on the air intake environment, radiator and intercooler performance and exhaust gas efficiency.
“The careful performance analysis from our initial WEC campaign clearly identified important areas to improve,” said Vanwall Principal Colin Kolles. “I am confident the actions taken following the technical review and the latest modifications incorporated will bring significant on-track improvement.
“We have had very constructive discussions with the WEC and ACO regarding rejoining the WEC in 2027 but as always participation is dependent on the team being invited to compete,” continued Kolles. “Our support for the new 2026 ALMS Hypercar category is a clear statement of our intent and commitment to the future.”
Alongside VANWALL Racing Team, Vanwall GmBH is a car manufacturer and offers design and aerodynamic services as well as composites production facilities.
