Leicester-based Team Parker Racing has announced that it will campaign two full-season Bentley GT3 entries in the 2017 British GT Championship.

The Bentley Continental GT3 first appeared on the British GT grid in 2016 and quickly became a fan-favourite with committed driving from Rick Parfitt Jnr and Seb Morris leading to a third place season finish in the GT3 Drivers and Teams Championship.

Ian Loggie and Callum Macleod will join forces for the new season as the first Team Parker Racing driver announcements were made on March 1. Loggie and Macleod have experience in the Bentley Continental GT3 in both the 2016 Blancpain GT Series and two outings in the British GT Championship last year.

Gloucester-resident Macleod began his driving career in karts in 2000 and has won the 2007 Formula Ford Great Britain championship and the 2009 European F3 Open Championship. He and Loggie have been regular driving partners since 2015, a year that saw them take the top step of the podium in the Total 24 Hours of Spa Am Cup, driving the Team Parker Racing Audi R8 LMS Ultra.

“We’ve run different programmes in the past but will only be competing in British GT this year,” said Macleod. “The tracks are closer and more accessible for testing, but the format is better from an amateur’s perspective. Blancpain is more geared towards the Pros, whereas in British GT the Ams play an equal role in qualifying, spend more time in the car and also start most of the races. It’s a great fit.”

Ian Loggie is equally motivated by the opportunities offered by the highly competitive Bentley Continental GT3.

“I am really excited to be racing again on home soil and again driving such a fantastic car as well as being associated with such an iconic brand as Bentley,” said Loggie

The opening round of the 2017 British GT Championship takes place at Oulton Park on April 15 – 17 with the free-to-enter Media Day to launch the new season being held at Snetterton on March 28.
