2 Seas Motorsport Enter Third McLaren GT3 For Silverstone. (29.10.20)

2 Seas Motorsport, who entered the Intelligent Money British GT Championship for the first time in 2020, has announced that it will field a third McLaren 720S GT3 for the final round of the season at Silverstone.

Al Faisal al Zubair and Martin Kodric will join the two Silver Cup crews of Angus Fender and Dean Macdonald, drivers of the #9 car, and Jack Mitchell and Jordan Witt in the #10 entry.

Double Porsche GT3 Middle East champion Al Zubair will be competing his first race since the Dubai 24 Hour at the start of the year. The 22-year old began his racing career in the 2015 BRDC Formula 4 Autumn Trophy and first raced GT machinery in the 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany.

“I am extremely excited to be back racing after such a long break, having competed since the Dubai 24-hour race in January,” said Al Zubair. “It will be a very different experience for me, racing in a new series with the McLaren which I have never raced before, but I am really excited to be back in a GT3 race car, racing with 2 Seas Motorsport alongside Martin at the iconic Silverstone circuit.”

Martin Kodric began GT racing in the 2016 Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final and in 2018 won the Blancpain GT Series Asia series with FFF Racing Team by ACM. Earlier in 2020, Kodric, alongside teammates Dominic Storey and Fraser Ross, won the Silver Cup class at Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

“It will be a steep learning curve for Al Faisal and Martin making their series’ debut at Silverstone, but both have achieved strong results at the highest level and the team is looking forward to ending the season the season on a high and building on the overall race win from last time out at Snetterton.”
