2018 British GT Championship drivers champions Flick Haigh and Jonny Adam will return to the championship grid, together for the first time since their title run four years ago. The duo will contest the Silverstone 500 in addition to rounds at Snetterton and Brands Hatch.
Haigh and Adam will share the driving duties in a 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 as a second entry from the team alongside full-season entrants James Cottingham and Lewis Williamson.
Flick Haigh had teased a potential return to the track recently with two social media posts where she shared images of her new crash helmet design.
Four-time British GT champion Jonny Adam makes his start in a marque other than Aston Martin for the first time since he joined the championship. The 37-year-old Scot is still a full-time Aston Martin factory driver but is allowed to race with other manufacturers provided there is no clash with his AMR commitments.
Flick Haigh is delighted to be back in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship.
“It’s taken a while but I am so pleased to be able to say that I’m back,” said Haigh. “The British GT Championship holds some really fantastic memories, and it’s great to continue this journey alongside Jonny and to join 2 Seas Motorsport.
“I am really pleased to be heading to to Silverstone for our first race where we scored a podium back in 2018 and the team had a great result there last year, so we are going to be pushing for a strong result from the start and looking to build on this at Snetterton and Brands Hatch.”
Isa Al Khalifa is looking forward to seeing the 2018 champions compete in the team’s Mercedes-AMG GT3.
“It is a real coup for us to confirm that Flick and Jonny will be reunited to take on these additional British GT events,” said Al Khalifa. “Flick secured the title on her debut which is a huge result and remains the only female driver to have achieved this.
“Jonny has proved on multiple occasions to be the class of the field and is one of the most successful drivers in the history of the championship. It is really exciting to bring them back together and we are excited to see them both competing with us in the Mercedes-AMG.”
The 2022 Intelligent Money British GT Championship grid assembles for Round Three at Silverstone on May 7 – 8.
