Adam / TF Sport Set Pace In British GT FP2 (05.08.17)

2017 Le Mans and Blancpain GT champion Jonny Adam set the pace in FP2 for Round Nine of the 2017 British GT Championship. The reigning GT3 champion set a 1:25.864 around the GP Brands Hatch GP circuit in the #1 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 on his final flying lap of the session after he crossed the line two seconds before the chequered flag was shown.

Second fastest in the session was Phil Keen in the #33 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracán GT3 with a 1:26.122 set early in a session that was interrupted by two Red Flags. The first was shown when the #7 Team Parker Racing Bentley Continental GT3 went off at Turn Five, Hawthorns, with Callum Macleod at the wheel. The session was only briefing suspended and the #7 car suffered no significant damage.

The second Red Flag occurred with 35 minutes to go when Mark Farmer, driving the #11 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage, had an excursion into the gravel at Paddock Hill Bend. There was no damage to the car and, following recovery, Jon Barnes put in the third fastest time of the session with a 1:26.129.

Topping the time sheets in the GT4 class was the William Tregurtha / Stuart Middleton #55 HHC Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4 which put in a 1:32.828. Second quickest was the #51 Lanan Racing Ginetta G55 GT4 with a 1:32.946.

Qualifying begins at 16:25 with the GT3 Am drivers qualifying first in the four ten-minute sessions. The weather forecast is looking highly unpredictable leading up to the qualifying sessions.
