BMW On Sebring Pole After Red Flag-Interrupted Qualifying

Dries Vanthoor put the #24 BMW M Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 on pole for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring after lapping the 3.74 miles of the Sebring International Raceway in 1:47.091 in a session that saw a red flag after the #31 Cadillac Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R driven by Jack Aitken stopped out on the circuit and was unable to re-start.

Qualifying alongside Vanthoor was the Acura Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06 in which Tom Blomqvist put in a 1:47.116 on his final lap, missing out on the pole slot by .025 seconds.

Completing the top three in the GTP class was the Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963 with Felipe Nasr at the wheel which lapped in 1:57.522.

In the LMP2 class, Steve Thomas set the quickest time with a 1:51.804 in the #11 TDS Racing ORECA with PJ Hyett in the #99 AO Racing entry second quickest with a 1:51.919 set on his 5th lap of eight. Nick Boulle in the #2 United Autosports entry completed the top three with a time of 1:52.444.

GTD Pro saw pole go to the #81 DragonSpeed Ferrari 296 GT3 in which Albert Costa lapped in 1:59.225, 0.172 seconds quicker than Laurin Heinrich in the #77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3. The two Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 Evos will line up in 3rd and 4th with Neil Verhagen lapping in 1:59.666 in the #1 car while Dan Harper put in 1:59.768 in the #48 entry.

The Modena marque also took pole in the GTD category after Alessandro Pier Guidi in the Af Corse Ferrari put in a 1:59.131, over a third of a second quicker than Kenton Koch in the #32 Korthoff Competition Motors Mercedes-AMG GT3. Jack Hawksworth in the #12 Vasser Sullivan Racing Lexus RC F GT3 completed the top three in class with a 1:59.518.

The lights go out for the start of the 2025 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at 10:00 am ET (14:00 UK time) on Saturday March 15th.
