FF Corse has announced that it will enter the final round of the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT with a Ferrari F488 Competizione. Laurent de Meeus will join Jamie Stanley to share the the driving duties in the team’s GTC entry.
The entry is subject to the race being allowed to go ahead, with England entering a second lockdown on Thursday November 5. Motorsport UK, the country’s governing body for four-wheeled motorsport, is due to provide guidance shortly.
If the race proceeds as planned, it will be the Silverstone-based team’s first entry in the UK’s premier domestic GT series since 2016.
De Meeus has been racing Ferraris in the Ferrari Challenge Europe since 2017 and finished third in the standings in 2019. The Belgian pilot is a partner at Egon Zehnder, a leading global leadership advisory firm.
“The decision to enter British GT at Silverstone was a last-minute decision after the Ferrari World Challenge World Final at Misano was cancelled,” said De Meeus. “I couldn’t finish 2020 without some more track action and I feel privileged to be racing in the Silverstone 500.”
Jamie Stanley began his racing career in 2010 and has been De Meeus’ driver coach since 2017.
“I am extremely excited to be competing in British GT with Laurent,” said Jamie Stanley. “This is the seventh time I have done the Silverstone 500, which in my opinion is the best race of the British GT season and it is an added bonus to be competing with Laurent in his first appearance in British GT.”
Subject to guidance provided by Motorsport UK, further entries will be announced before the full grid is revealed on Wednesday.
The Silverstone 500, the season finale to the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship is due to be held on November 7 – 8.
