Shaun Balfe and Rob Bell will return for Balfe Motorsport to add a GT3 entry to the team’s three-car GT4 line-up for the season finale of the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship.
Balfe and Bell, who finished third in the 2019 GT3 drivers championship standings, made the decision to sit out the 2020 season as the Lincolnshire-based team focused on its customer racing programme. Balfe Motorsport’s full-season GT4 Pro-Am entry of Mia Flewitt and Eaun Hankey will be joined for the final round by the pairings of Jan Klingelberg and Warren Hughes alongside Lars Dahmann and Charlie Hollings.
“After a very fast, furious and compressed 2020 where we’ve been enjoying the success and growth of the customer racing side of the team, it felt like it was a good time for me to something out of the season, and where better than a big blue-riband event like the Silverstone 500?” said Shaun Balfe.
“I am looking forward to being back in the car with Rob and enjoying some time with some of our customers in my race suit, rather than with my management cap on.
“It will be nice to getting up close with the regular GT competitors, and some famous Formula 1 driver apparently!”
Following the government announcement of a second national lockdown taking place from Thursday November 5, series organiser the SRO Motorsports Group are currently waiting guidance from Motorsport UK concerning racing on November 7 – 8.
