Maidstone-based G-Cat Racing has announced that it will be returning to the Intelligent Money British GT Championship Powered by AWS in 2021 with Shamus Jennings joining team owner Greg Caton in a GT3 Am/Am partnership.
The team will be campaigning its Porsche 911 GT3 R which it debuted in 2019.
Jennings and Caton are currently committed to the three opening rounds; Brands Hatch, the Silverstone 500 and Donington Park.
Shamus Jennings is looking forward to joining the grid of the premier domestic GT series after the challenges of 2020.
“Obviously 2020 was a bit tricky, and especially for Greg and I who predominantly want to have fun when we go racing. But with the situation now improving considerably we feel ready to return to British GT,” said Jennings. “We’re able to commit to the first three races at the moment, and the calendar shake-up has worked in our favour as we prefer the longer endurance format. Brands Hatch is G-Cat’s local circuit and the GP loop will look resplendent in late spring, so that’s bound to be a highlight.”
Jennings and Caton competed in five rounds of the 2019 championship, recording their best finish of 11th overall at Donington in the final round.
The 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship Powered by AWS gets underway on the Brands Hatch GP circuit on May 22 – 23 before visiting Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps, Oulton Park and two visits to Donington Park.
