The entry process for the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship has officially opened for a season which sees the GT3 class revive the Silver-Am category.
The calendar for the new season has already been announced with the premier domestic racing series returning with a seven-event, nine-round championship which includes visits to favourite British GT circuits including Oulton Park, Snetterton, Brands Hatch and Silverstone.
The series also plans to revisit Spa-Francorchamps in 2021, a circuit which has seen some fierce on-track battles over the past few years but which had to be side-stepped in 2020 due to the global pandemic.
Several teams have already declared their interest for the forthcoming season with reigning champion Sandy Mitchell joining Adam Balon at Barwell Motorsport, Jonny Adam and Andrew Howard reuniting at Beechdean AMR and Phil Keen partnering with Michael Igoe at WPI Motorsport.
Sadly, the traditional pre-season Media Day, which allowed fans and press alike the opportunity to view the new season’s cars for the first time, will not take place.
Sunoco has extended its official British GT Championship partnership for three more years and the company’s race fuels logos will be present on each entry as well as refuelling rigs.
Anglo-American Oil Company founder Anders Hildebrand is looking forward to the partnership with the Intelligent Money British GT Championship extending to 2023.
“In 2002 we became the British GT Championship’s first official fuel supplier and, save for two short periods, have remained so ever since,” said Anders Hildebrand. “We therefore extremely excited to continue our relationship and look forward to to at least another three years of supplying Sunoco’s world-renowned racing fuels.”
The opening round of the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship takes place at Oulton Park on April 3 – 5.
