Team Parker Racing has announced that Nick Jones and Scott Malvern will return to the Intelligent Money British GT Championship and will switch to the Porsche 911 GT3 R for this season’s campaign.

Jones and Malvern finished sixth in the championship’s 2020 GT3 Pro-Am drivers standings, taking a victory in the process at Donington Park in Round Four.

The move from the Bentley Continental GT3 to the Porsche 911 GT3 R means that Team Parker Racing is now involved at every level of the Stuttgart marque’s ‘motorsport pyramid’ scheme, with entries in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and the GT3 category with its British GT entry.

“I’m really, really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel,” said Jones, Managing Director of SD Sealants Ltd in whose livery the car will run. “I have always liked the brand, so I am excited to jump into the 911 GT3 R and see where we end up. It’s a completely different car to what I’ve been driving but hopefully it will be inspiring to drive so I don’t mind where we race!”

Teammate and Pro pilot Scott Malvern is also looking forward to the new season.

“I can’t wait and I’m excited to be back in GT3 again,” he said. “With the new rules excluding Silver/Silver line-ups it is anyone’s game now , so we have a really good chance, especially with this new car which is proven and has won lots of races both last year and this.

“I’m pleased for the team too as they have a great reputation with Porsche and did really well last year with the Cup cars.”

The 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship gets underway at Brands Hatch on May 22 – 23.
