Stewart Lines and Will Powell will contest the 2022 Intelligent Money British GT Championship in a McLaren 570S GT4 backed by Maximum Networks and Motus One, their respective companies.
With entries opening for the new season, Lines and Powell were one of the first teams to declare an entry.
Will Powell began his racing career in the 2014 Toyota MR2 Championship and won the 2021 Britcar Endurance Championship driving the #77 Motus One with Moorgate McLaren 650S GT3 alongside teammate David Scaramanga.
Stewart Lines, director of both Maximum Motorsport and telecoms company Maximum Networks, contested three seasons in the British Touring Car Championship and won the 2020 Miller Oils Ginetta GT4 Supercup – Am championship.
Stewart Lines is delighted to be joining the British GT GT4 grid for 2022.
“It’s great to be able to promote Maximum Networks, which specialises in providing business telecoms services, to a new British GT audience and I believe we will be a competitive entry against the young guns in GT4,” said Lines. “The fact that TCR UK is now supporting the championship is the ideal alignment of business interests to make racing here a viable option. I’m looking forward to the season.”
Will Powell, Managing Director and founder of motorsport and automotive organisation Motus One, is also looking forward to competing in the 2022 Intelligent Money British GT Championship.
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to put a full-season entry together at the highest level of GT racing in the UK,” said Will Powell. “Stewart and I have often talked about teaming up. Our racing and business commitments have finally aligned for 2022 so now is the time. The team will be working hard over the winter to give us a competitive GT4 car from the off next season.”
The Intelligent Money British GT Championship gets underway at Oulton Park on April 16 – 18 2022.
