Radcliffe and Bell to drive for Optimum on its full-season return to British GT

Shaun Goff’s Wakefield-based Optimum Motorsport will make its return to the Intelligent Money British GT Championship in 2023, its first full-season entry since 2020.

Optimum took the overall drivers titles in 2018 with Jonny Adam and Flick Haigh and entered its McLaren 720S at Silverstone in 2022 piloted by Nick Moss and Joe Osborne.

Optimum’s 2023 McLaren entry will be driven by Mark Radcliffe, making his GT3 class debut after an outing with Valluga Racing in the GT4 class last season, and factory driver Rob Bell.

Optimum Motorsport will field two entries in this year’s British GT Championship with a second entry, this time in the GT4 class, to be revealed shortly.

Team owner Shaun Goff is delighted to be making a full-season return to the championship in 2023.

“To have two cars across the two different categories on this year’s grid is great for the team,” he said. “Rob has a wealth of experience in the GT3, and Mark’s shown great pace in our recent test day. I’m looking forward to contending for the overall title once again.”

The 2023 Intelligent Money British GT Championship gets underway at Oulton Park on April 8 – 10 with the traditional pre-season Media Day returning for 2023 at Donington on March 14.
