Leatherhead, Surrey-based Barwell Motorsport has confirmed that it will contest the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with a pair of new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evos.
The team, who won the Endurance Cup Am team standings in 2018, with Leo Machitski and Adrian Amstutz taking the Am drivers honours, will return with Machitski and Amstutz to defend the Am class titles.
Barwell Motorsport also returns with a Silver Cup entry, with Sandy Mitchell remaining on board for a second season, to be joined by Jordan Witt and James Pull.
Witt joins from Team RJN Nissan where he finished ninth in the Silver Cup drivers standings in 2018 driving the team’s Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.
19-year old James Pull enjoyed a busy 2018 where he raced in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East and Super Trofeo Asia championships with FFF Racing Team and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series with Bonaldi Motorsport.
Team Principal Mark Lemmer is excited at the prospect of fighting for title honours in two categories and welcoming back Black Bull Scotch Whisky as sponsor for the Silver Cup entry.
“Firstly I’d like to say a big thank you to Black Bull Scotch Whiskey, as it’s their continuous support of our Silver Cup young driver programme that allows us to be able to put together such an exciting driver line-up,” said Mark Lemmer. “We are very happy to welcome rising stars James Pull and Jordan Witt on board and with them joining Sandy we will once again have a crew capable of challenging for race victories and the Silver Cup title.”
The three Silver Endurance Cup drivers are all looking forward to the 2019 season.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my first season of GT3 racing last year and I am extremely excited to be back racing in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup,” said Sandy Mitchell. “It is fantastic to be returning with Barwell Motorsport and Black Bull Scotch Whisky and I’m very much looking forward to driving the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo with Jordan and James for the season.”
