Barwell / Cocker Quickest In FP2

Jonny Cocker, at the wheel of the #69 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo he shares with Sam De Haan, set the quickest time in FP2 for the opening rounds of the 2019 British GT Championship at Oulton Park. As the 60-minutes session entered its final quarter, Cocker put in a 1:34.827 to lead the overall field, lapping .083 seconds quicker than the sister #72 Barwell entry in which Phil Keen put in a 1:34.910

Third quickest overall was the #2 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in which Nicki Thiim lapped in 1:35.178 in his final lap and 27th of the session for the car he shares with Mark Farmer.

Quickest of the GT3 Silver category was the #96 Optimum Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage of Oliver Wilkinson and Bradley Ellis which lapped in 1:35.928.

In the GT4 category, the quickest lap was set by the #15 Silver class Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4, driven by Seb Priaulx and Scott Maxwell, the Canadian driver setting a 1:43.903. In the GT4 Pro-Am class, the #11 Beechdean AMR Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 topped the time sheets with a 1:44.804 in the hands of Martin Plowman in the car he shares with Kelvin Fletcher.

In a session that was run in warm, dry conditions there were no incidents or stoppages. There were issues for the #22 Balfe Motorsports McLaren 720S GT3 that put in only two laps throughout the session and was being worked on for an electrical problem. The #9 Team Parker Racing Bentley was also only able to put in nine laps while the #31 JRM Racing Bentley put in nine laps with a quickest time on 1:36.088 in the hands of Seb Morris before being taken back to the awning.

Qualifying takes place at 15:15 later on April 20 with four 15-minutes sessions to determine grid positions for each of the one-hour races on Bank Holiday Monday.
