Keen Quickest In British GT FP1. (01.08.20)

Phil Keen, at the wheel of the #72 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo he shares with Adam Balon, set the quickest time of the opening practicer session for Round One of the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Oulton Park.

Keen set a 1:34.820 early in the session which ran uninterrupted in cloudy but warm conditions.

The new team on the grid, 2 Seas Motorsport, went second quickest when Dean Macdonald lapped the team’s #9 McLaren 720S GT3 in 1:35.075.

RAM Racing was in no rush to put its #6 Mercedes-AMG GT3 out on the 4.307 km circuit but when Yelmer Buurman, teammate of Ian Loggie had got some heat in the tyres, the Dutchman put in a 1:35.319 to go third quickest.

Heading the timing screens in the GT4 class was the #95 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, piloted by Connor O’Brien and Patrick Kibble, which put in a 1:43.762 in the hands of 18-year-old Kibble, starting his second season in the GT4 class.

Second quickest in the GT4 class was the #23 Speedworks Motorsport Toyota GR Supra GT4, making its global debut in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship and piloted by James Kell and Sam Smelt, which lapped in 1:43.952.

The sole GT3 Pro-Am entry, the #21 Balfe Motorsport McLaren 570S GT4 driven by Mia Flewitt, making her debut in the championship, and Euan Hankey, put in a 1:44.536 to go fifth quickest on GT4 timing screens.

FP2 , a further 60-minute session, gets underway at 12:10 local time.
